Academy News/Updates

The Inspector General Criminal Investigator Academy's (IGCIA) Basic Non-Criminal Investigator Training Program (BNCITP) has historically served multiple and diverse job series within the IG community, including many varied positions that support criminal investigations. To more accurately reflect the content of and the intended audience for the BNCITP, we have decided to change the program name to Essentials of Inspector General Investigations (EIGI). For the past several years, this program has been in high demand, and we usually have a lengthy wait list of individuals who desire a seat. As a result, we are pleased to announce that beginning with Essentials of Inspector General Investigations 304 (September 17-27, 2013), the class size will be increased from 24 to 36 students to enable us to accommodate more IG personnel. It should be noted that EIGI (formerly BNCITP) is not intended for criminal investigators. The IG Investigator Training Program (IGITP) remains the primary basic training program for criminal investigators who have completed the FLETC's Criminal Investigator Training Program (CITP).
